This is a collection of Lord of the Rings press books, books with movie-art covers, and souvenier programs.

I do not collect Lord of the Rings first editions, or non-movie covers.

The Lord of the Rings: A Filmmaking Journey   Extremely rare hardcover books, supposed to be limited to 1,000 copes. This was a private publication, given to Academy voters, to guests at the New Line Oscar ROTK party, or both, depending upon the source. Dust cover has gilt trim, is glued down to the cover. I had a friend who accidentally tore her dust cover, and found a completely different cover underneath. This book was never for sale to the public.

Japan Sunrise Theatre Catalogue Item Book cover
France  Cannes Film Festival 2001 Gift Bag trilogy copy with special cover Extreme limited edition, marked on back "Not for Sale". Mint copies are incredibly hard to find.
Spain ARUM Press Book with Press CDrom. ARUM is the films' Spanish Distributor. All text is in Spanish.   Includes several accordian style maps, charts, etc. All are in a heavy embossed cardboard slipcover. The book itself is hardcover.
Japan souvenier movie programs Oversized, softbound, about as thick as a good magazine. Includes tons of photos, bios, character synoposises, maps, and last pages also includes the theatre catalogue.
Return of the King Puzzle Book Five Mile Press Australia                     Shades of Chucky. Oh, no wait, that was Billy Boyd. ;-)
Linen-bound Press Books Printed by New Line Cinema, distributed as gifts, and to reviewers. The first one was printed in French, and distributed at the Cannes Film Festival in 2001. Later editions of the Fellowship pressbook were printed in English (even more rare), and Spanish (extremely rare). Books include photos, interviews, statistics, production photography, actor bios and more. The Two Towers and the Return of the King pressbooks were printed only in French. The Two Towers is the hardest of the three to find. These books were privately published for New Line, and do not have an ISBN number, as they were never intended for sale to the public.
Decipher Roleplaying Game books I don't know squat about the Roleplaying Games, but the  book art was too cool to pass up.
Italy Souvenier book (May be a program, or even a press book.) My fabulous musical training back in the First Age permits to to do a loose translation: All the Secrets of the Ring: The Definitive Guide to the Entire Trilogy of Peter Jackson. Fabulous photo art throughout. If you ever have the opportunity to get one of these....do!!!! Published by a company called CIAK in conjunction with the Italian film distributor, Medusa. This may be a pressook.
