
| Feves
One unusual series of licensed items were small porcelain "Feves". These tiny figures were baked into cakes eaten at the Fat Tuesday celebration prior to the beginning of Lent. Whoever found the feve in their slice either won a prize, or was King or Queen of the celebration.
When I researched feves further, I found that they were very popular in France, and that each year there are dozens of series made of fantasy or fable characters, as well as licensed series, such as Disney, currently popular toys, and other movie favorites. Feves are much collected in their own right.
Feves came in both glazed (glossy) and unglazed (matte or bisque) porcelain versions, and most are under an inch in size.
