China
by way of a Phillipine Ebayer. A lot of what comes out of the Phillipines is bootleg Chinese stuff.
This takes the cake for cheap, shoddy carp. One of the few items I'm embarrassed to have in my collection.
Don't let these within ten miles of a little kid.

Czech
by EFKO, the same company who printed the fabulous Czech postcards
The packaging is quite nice, with the back of the card being printed with a culture emblem which is (presumably) the back of the key chain.
I particularly enjoyed Gollum's Czech name. Perfect!

Rosendahl
International Red Cross
VERY rare keychain, produced for a Red Cross benefit dinner, by the reknowned Danish crystal company Rosendahl. Because the keychain is dated, it may have been in conjuction with a premiere.
Movie title appears on one side, in Danish. Sorry, very shiny, hard to photograph. It says Ringenes Herre

Clarisso
lead crystal keychains
probably the most impractical thing I've ever seen in my life.
These were quite expensive, and I was only able to pick a few of my favorites.
Beautiful packaging, inlcuding a full color box.
The German shop clerk was kind enough to throw in the store display, too, which is the last photo in this block.
I think maybe I scared (or entertained!) him with my enthusiasm.

Medallion Keychain
series of three: Legolas (silver), Aragorn (gold), Frodo (copper)
these are stunning keychains, photos do not do justice.
Each is on a special foam card, with brightly colored art. The specially woven ribbons have culture emblems, and the heavily detailed medallions have art on both sides, and are clearly and heavily stamped.
IMHO, one of the premiere Lord of the Rings movie collectibles, the absolute collecting summit.
Foam-board holders are designed with cutouts so you can see both sides of the medallions.
Because they are in shiny mylar slipcovers, they are hard to photograph well. Photos show neither the brilliant colors nor the terrific detail.

These clear keychains have film-cel like photos on them. There is a different photo on either side, as in the case of the Aragorn/Arwen keychain.
They seem like they should be filled with something, or do something, but I can't figure out what. I think they are just nice film cel holder keychains.

This is a foam rubber key chain. I was assured that this is an eyeglass cleaner, but for the life me can't figure out how it would work.

EFKO / Far East
EKFO is the same company who printed wonderful postcards in Eastern Europe.
These beautiful keyrings are very unusual, with sculpted busts on them.
I wonder if they had a hand from Sideshow Weta with these?
I feel certain there must be a series of these, but sadly, these are the only two I've been able to lay my hands on.

Another personal favorite. Lovely little trinkets, these are.
Complete set is silver, bronze, and copper.

I'm on the fence about this extensive series. Unless I'm blind as a bat, there is no licensing info on either side, but they do appear professionally printed.

Supposedly a promo keychain for the Stern Pinball game.
I think not.
I think more likely someone at Stern got bored and drilled holes in scrap.

Basic Fun
Series of "interactive" keychains. The One Ring lights up with red letters, Sting glows blue, Bag End has a Viewmaster type viewing hole, and Gollum....well, Gollum talks.
I was sitting at my desk one day, with my purse by my feet, having a really difficult time understanding one of my hispanic customers. I wriggle my feet when I am anxious.
All of a sudden My Preciousssss unexpectedly (and very menacingly, I might add!) hisses out from at my feet. I screamed, and started laughing hysterically, til I had tears rolling down my cheeks.
To this day, Señor Osorios thinks I am a raving lunatic, and gives me a wide berth when he comes in the office.
I have the European version of Gollum pictured here. He is printed in German and French.

Applause
These were made by the US gift company Applause. Oddly enough, I never saw them available in the USA. I got my set in Mäinz, Germany. Small medallions on stamped leather. Much less unwieldy than the clunky monsters (below), and kind of neat.
